Cllr Hall passed on a request from a local resident re. cutting back a beech tree on Main Street. SBC Cllr Mountford advised contacting SBC Tree Officer Simon Wilkinson.

Roadside Hedge

Cllr Hall noted potential safety issue of roadside hedge for vehicles using Hownam road. Contacting SBC a possibility.

SBC Cllr Mountford noted that he would attend Forum on 7 December at Kelso HS. A report on Walter Leitch Trust would be presented.

Christmas Lights Funds

Treasurer reported that with £584 already spent there was £500 remaining for electrical works.

Queen’s 90th Birthday Memorial Trees

Cllr Hall reported that the trees would be planted soon.

Border Union Agricultural Society

Cllr Thomson reported that BUAS had set up a Bicentenary Bursary in 2013 for young people studying for a career where they could make a contribution to the wider Scottish Borders community. More details from BUAS.

Road Safety

Cllr Hall reported that the school now had a painted sign in front of the building.

Pothole

Cllr McNulty had reported a pothole to SBC at the Cessford road end outside Morebattle.

Christmas Lights Switch On

Lights will be switched on at 6.30pm Sunday 4 December by the Games Queen.
