At one time threatened with closure, along with the Post Office which was housed in it, the shop at the time of writing (September 2012) is again flourishing under the ownership and management of Mrs Anne Brown

The Post Office now runs an outreach service there on Mondays and Thursdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.

As well as the Morebattle Poet's book, copies of the Kalewater Miscellany, published at the Millenium, are still available, as well as other publications and numerous postcards of local scenes.
