Walter Leitch Fund

Chair noted that she had received a breakdown of grants from the fund from SBC. It appeared that some applicants had had access to funds in some years when other applicants had been told that there was no money.

b

Morebattle Music Festival proposal

Chair reported that she had met with the festival proposers and now that they had a better understanding of what would be required in terms of organisation and funding, the proposal had been shelved. As grant funding is generally aimed at communities, the Chair suggested that the community might be able to organise its own music festival. SBC Cllr Mountford suggested contacting a music festival organiser in Yetholm.

Public Toilets

SBC will continue to look after existing public toilets but without investment. SBC Cllr Mountford noted that the community in Coldingham has taken over the management of its public toilets, although they are relatively new.

SBC Cllr Mountford reported that SBC intends to amalgamate existing community funds and then divide the sum by population across the 5 Area Partnerships. Communities can then apply for funding for projects that have community benefits.

Cllr Sunderland to contact SBC Officer Alastair Finnie for an assessment of the Morebattle public toilets.
