Minutes of Previous Meeting of 21 February 2017

The minutes of the previous meeting of 17 February having been circulated were passed as a true record of events.

Jinty Scott Trust

Chair had emailed a local trustee but no response to date. Ongoing.

Broken public bench at bottom of Pikings

Cllr Pedersen reported that he had the timber and would make the repair and would paint the metalwork in the summer.

Cllr Hall reported that SBC Officer A. Finnie was looking into the issue of the copper beech trees.

Domestic Roadside Hedge

Secretary reported that SBC roads section would look at any potential road safety issues.

Gifted Bench

Cllr Bell passed details to the Secretary of the bench donor in order to write a letter of thanks.

Minor Public Road near Old Caverton - Caverton Mains

SBC Cllr Mountford had emailed SBC. Ongoing.

Morebattle Cemetery Lairs

SBC Cllr Mountford reported from SBC that there are lairs available for immediate use only. There are none available for presale - for purchase now to be used in the future. The lairs that are available are along the bottom fence looking up towards the church. Following a request SBC Cllr Mountford would ask how many lairs were left.

Kalewater Community Council elections 2017

Chair Cllr McNulty announced his retiral at the end of his current tenure at the May AGM.

Cllr Halliday also announced her retiral at the forthcoming AGM.

Cllr Mabon noted that a salt bin in the village had been damaged by a reversing vehicle and that SBC had removed it. Cllr Pedersen to make enquiries.

Cllr Edgar reported some progress with access issues relating to Linton Hall.

Cllr Hall reported the hedge by the Glebe had been cut.
