Minutes of Previous Meeting The minutes of the previous meeting of 17 March having been circulated were passed as a true record of events. Proposed: Cllr McEwan; Seconded: Cllr. Hall |

Matters Arising from Previous Meeting Trysting tree Cllr Hall to progress remaining issues. |

Defibrillators Cllr Bell had no response from the business organisation owning the Border Hotel, Yetholm re. the defibrillator on their building. To progress. Cllr Aitchison reported that the units at Morebattle and Hownam had been fitted with Cessford to follow on a new 15’ pole in late April. The Linton unit was in hand. Cost for installation of all units: £584 and the units themselves: £1450. Treasurer to investigate further source of funding as total cost was more than had been originally envisaged. |

Morebattle Street Names Cllr Bell reported some progress and would produce map with street name proposals. SBC Cllr Mountford suggested contacting SBC Officer Ronnie Pattenden and to walk around the village. The cost could be the basis of an application to the Council’s ‘Small Schemes’ programme. |

Community Resilience Cllr Pedersen reported on a recent exercise at Oxton. |

Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Integration consultation Cllr Halliday offered to look into an event coinciding with the 16 June community council meeting. Secretary to forward SBC contact details. |

Cheviot Area Forum Cllr Bell reported that having attended the recent meeting, that there would be a12-month pilot scheme. There had been some concern that towns might dominate the locality-based scheme over rural areas but the Council had offered assurances that it was not about moving service delivery to local communities. |

Linton Community Hall Cllr Edgar reported that he had confirmation that the hall no longer belonged to SBC and that he would go to the Land Tribunal in an effort to improve access to the building. There was now an active hall committee. |

Morebattle development site (next to graveyard) Cllrs McNulty, McEwan, Thomson and Mabon to visit the site and agree an approach to resolving the issue of encroaching trees at the kirkyard. SBC Cllr Mountford to liaise with SBC Access section and Planning re. their management of adjacent path. |

Davidson Committee request Cllr Bell also sits on the Robert Davidson committee and reported that the group wished to develop short guided walks based on the life and works of the poet. The first walk would take place on 13 June, involve actors, last around 90 minutes and was being developed with community councillor Eleanor Crawford who had been involved with the Flodden anniversary. Cllr Bell asked if the community council’s could cover the Davidson group’s activities. Secretary to inquire with SBC’s insurance officer. |

Morebattle archive Cllr Hall noted that there would be a meeting on 26 April to progress cataloguing papers and objects. Request for £20 from the community council to purchase paper, index cards, etc. |

AOB Cllr Pedersen reported that there was a proposal for a sign by St Cuthbert’s Way by the junction of Otterburn and the main B road into Morebattle to promote local facilities. Sign to be designed by a local artist. |

Member of the public noted that the plaque on the Jubilee Bridge was incorrect as it was to celebrate Victoria’s Golden Jubilee and not Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee (2012). SBC Cllr Mountford to discuss with SBC Cllr Nicol. |
