Minutes of Previous Meeting The minutes of the previous meeting of 19 May having been circulated were passed as a true record of events. Proposed: Cllr Bell; Seconded: Cllr. Mabon |

Matters Arising from Actions 19 May 2015 Defibrillators Cllr Bell noted she was still in contact with the garage in Yetholm re. the issue of informing property insurers that a defibrillator had been attached to the building. Cllr McNulty had attended training in Hownam on 14 June. |

Morebattle Development Site Chair had recently written to site owner re. a site visit |

Jubilee Bridge SBC Cllr Nicol reported that a new sign was in progress. |

Morebattle Signage Issues Cllr Bell noted that Cllr Hall had been contacted by a resident who was unhappy with proposal to use name ‘Culbertson Vennel’. As a result the proposal is likely to be deleted. Secretary tabled SBC’s Core Path Map for the Morebattle area. Cllr Bell to visit Heritage Hub in Hawick to research ‘The Square’ and any connection with ‘St Andrew’ |

Kelso Laddie’s Rideout to Morebattle 21 June Chair updated the meeting on preparations. SBC Cllr Mountford is Master of Ceremonies. Speaker contacted and agreed to give speech. Cllr Mabon noted a low response to request for volunteers via the village shop. |

Morebattle PS School Roll SBC Cllr Mountford still to progress. Noted that the ‘Walter Leitch’ Fund paid out £1200 in 2013/14. |

AOB Planning Applications Cllr Thomson queried why house-building planning applications in the countryside were sometimes rejected by SBC’s planning committee. SBC Cllr Mountford explained how decisions are guided by the Council’s ‘Housing in the Countryside’ policy. |

SBC Land Ownership Cllr Thomson asked if SBC owned land around Morebattle which could be used to build houses. Cllr McNulty noted that there was unused land next to Eildon Housing’s development plot. |

Morebattle Archive SBC Cllr Nicol noted that the next meeting was 6 July. Cllr Bell hoped that a representative of the Heritage Hub would attend. |

Veterinary Practice SBC Cllr Mountford noted that a new vets practice had been granted permission on appeal to open at Pinnaclehill in Kelso. |
