Minutes of Previous Meeting The minutes of the previous meeting of 21 January having been circulated were then passed as a true record of events subject to amending the numbering of agenda items and Cllr Mountford’s presence. Proposed: Cllr Pedersen; Seconded: Cllr Dixon |

Matters Arising from 21 January Actions Cllr Cessford noted that the recent coffee morning had raised £580 for the defibrillator fund. The total funds are approx. £1400 and the target is £1800-£2400. The difference may be made up form a successful application to the Council’s Community Grant fund. The unit could be housed in the redundant telephone box but may require a power supply for battery charging. |

Chair noted that a representative of Citizens’ Advice Bureau would give a short presentation at the March community council meeting on the subject of their new outreach service. Morebattle’s service may take place on Tuesdays from June based in the Institute. Chair to put poster up in the village shop. |

Cllr Hall reported from Morebattle Parent Teacher Council meeting on 17 February that Christmas Fair had been very successful but due to the amount of time required from pupils it may not be a regular event. Pupil transport issues due to the vehicle being too small. Changes to the pupil day are imminent with knock-on effects on transport. |

Cllr Pedersen concerned about run-off from manure pile at the top of the Pikings. Chair would report it to SEPA. |

Cllr Dixon noted that the Post Office machine had not been available recently due problems with the Vodafone mobile coverage. Cllr Pedersen reported that the system is being updated. Cllr Hall offered to contact Post Office Counters. |

Cllr Dixon has contacted Scottish Ramblers Association re. state of Dere Street due to lack of action from Scottish Borders Council and also looking at Local Access Forum to act on other issues at Hownam Law. |

Cllr Aitchison noted that salt bins around Hownam had not been refilled despite calls to SBC. |

Cllr Cessford noted a pothole by Renwick Gardens. Chair advised that it was a Scottish Water issue relating to storm drains from Mainsfield Avenue and that householders should contact Eildon Housing. |
