Minutes of Previous Meeting of 17 January 2017

The minutes of the previous meeting of 17 January having been circulated were passed as a true record of events.

Chair had emailed a local trustee but no response to date. Ongoing.

Pothole at Otterburn junction

Fixed.

Morebattle Path proposal

Cllr Hall reported progress with work due to start in May. An estimate for fencing works to be obtained asap as it may be possible to fund from remaining 2016/17 SBC Quality of Life funds.

Volunteers may be required for path work. Cllr Thomson volunteered.

SBC Cllr Mountford noted that SBC will fix the sign.

Community Council Insurance cover

Secretary read through the insurer’s questionnaire and noted requirement for a risk assessment covering strimming and for the steps used for the Callant’s & Laddie’s annual visit.

Secretary to bring blank risk assessment forms to next meeting.

Secretary to ask for advice on Personal Accident Cover amounts.

Secretary to send completed form to Edinburgh City Council who now coordinate insurance cover.

Morebattle Cemetery Path

Cllr Halliday passed on a complaint from a local resident re. the poor state of the new path. Some work still to be completed on the path and a handrail to be installed.

Minor Public Road near Old Caverton -Caverton Mains

Cllr Thomson noted that there had been no ditch maintenance on the road as expected. SBC Cllr Mountford to contact SBC Officer Alastair Finnie.

Morebattle Cemetery Lairs

Cllr Mabon asked whether there was a moratorium on reserving lairs in the cemetery. SBC Cllr Mountford to investigate.

Cllr Lang noted recent issues with waste uplifts at Teapot Bank, Morebattle.
