SBC Carbon Reduction Officer for Communities and Schools, Fiona Munro Fiona gave a short presentation on the two-year project to help schools reduce their energy consumption. Melrose Community Council have already set up an agreement with Melrose Primary School, Melrose in Bloom and A Greener Melrose. Also activity in Duns and Cockburnspath. Could Kalewater Community Council enter into a partnership agreement with Morebattle PS eco-committee (Chair, Susan White) and Parent Teacher Council to encourage mutual understanding and community-building? Possible outcomes could be a joint environmental action plan or a ‘Green Day’ with themes such as; recycling, energy, surveys, transport. Cllr Cessford would represent the community council and attend joint meetings with Cllr Dixon as a co-rep. |
