Cllr Dixon had received information from SBC Roads office Gary Haldane that as a result of recent monitoring, 168 vehicles/week travelled through Hownam with 85% of them travelling at a speed below the criteria which would justify a 30mph zone. Cllr Dixon noted that there were problems with vehicles at the corner at the W end of the village. The section of road around Corbet Tower was being assessed for a warning sign in view of its use by St Cuthbert’s Way walkers. |
