Morebattle Festival Week 2014
Programme of Events
The sashing of the 2014 games queen, Emma Thomson, will take place during the service in Morebattle Church on Sunday 27th July at 11.15am.
Enter our scarecrow competition - scarecrows to be displayed all week
Saturday 2nd August
Boys and girls five-a-side football competition at school playfield at 2pm.
Age groups: Under 14's & 14 and over.
Names to Eric McNulty by Thursday 31st July. Teams will be drawn from entries.
Sunday 3rd August
Family day at school playfield at 2pm (if wet games in village hall)
Races, team games, welly throwing, penalty kicks, boules, competitions, tombola (donations gratefully received) refreshments. etc.
Monday 4th August
Coffee evening in village hall at 7pm.
Sales table, raffle, competitions, etc.
Family bingo in Templehall lounge at 8pm (prompt)
Tuesday 5th August
Camera Club Exhibition
In the Institute, 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Tea and raffle.
Pool Competition in Templehall
Enter on the night starting at 7pm - challenge cup
Wednesday 6th August
Whist and Dominoes
In the village hall - 7pm for 7.30pm. Admission £2.00 including supper, school children 50p.
Thursday 7th August
Childrens Egg Hunt & Teddy Bears Picnic
At school playfield for under 6's (bring your teddy) and treasure hunt for 6-12 year olds.
Pet Show
At the playfield at 6.30pm.
Classes:
- (1) large dog
- (2) small dog
- (3) small pet other than dogs
- (4) rescued pet
- (5) owner most like their pet
Friday 8th August
Fancy Dress Parade
Judging at school playfield at 6.30pm prompt. If raining 6pm - judging in Templehall lounge at 6.30pm.
Classes:
- Children 7 and under
- Children 8-16 years
- Children's groups 0-16
- Individual adults
- Mixed groups of 2 and more
Cup for best overall entrant. Parade to follow at 7pm approx.
Family Disco
In Templehall lounge thereafter. Presentation of cups and results of scarecrow competition at 8pm approx.
Saturday 9th August
Morebattle Games
At Morebattle Tofts at 1.30pm. Entries for local races to J Mabon by 31st July.
