SBAlert Launched
A message from Jim Fraser, Emergency Planning Officer at Scottish Borders Council:
We are pleased to inform you that today we have launched SBAlert the multi-agency resilient communities messaging system with our partners Police Scotland, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, and NHS Borders. SBAlert will be the first messaging system of its kind in Scotland and we are grateful of the support finding that we received from the Scottish Government to implement the system.
The system will be used by the partners to alert you individually to any incident or occurrence within the Scottish Borders which could be any of the following: severe weather, utility failure, road closures, bogus callers, metal or farm thefts. The alerts will be sent out by email, text or phone call dependent upon the severity of the incident and you will not be bombarded with information as we will send out general information on a weekly or fortnightly basis in the form of a newsletter. The system will also remove the need for co-ordinators to forward on information as the partners will do this directly to your groups and we can send information to a specific Community Council area, Forum area i.e. Berwickshire, or to the whole of the Scottish Borders.
Please access the system on www.sbalert.co.uk and click on the sign up here icon and follow the process and enter your details where required, you can at any time amend your contact details and change the provider that you receive information from, but please tick on Council, Police, Fire and NHS, you control the provider of information and can control the amount information that you receive.
Should you encounter any problems or issues with the system please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
